A Pattaya to Hua Hin taxi covers about 360 to 390 km, typically 4 to 5 hours by private car on Motorway 7, the Bangkok outer ring road and Rama 2. Pattaya to Hua Hin in one car

Many travellers combine both coasts, finishing in Pattaya and moving on to the calmer beaches of Hua Hin. Without a car, that means a bus to Bangkok, a transfer across the city and another bus south. A Pattaya to Hua Hin taxi replaces all of that with one vehicle and one driver.

Your driver meets you in the lobby at the agreed time, loads the bags and heads north on Motorway 7. There is nothing to arrange between the two cities; you settle in and reach your Hua Hin hotel in the afternoon. If you need a late check-out, we can move the pickup time, and the driver will message you on the morning of travel to confirm.

The motorway route west

The car follows Motorway 7 towards Bangkok, turns onto the Kanchanaphisek outer ring road to bypass the city centre, and joins Rama 2 Road (Highway 35) heading south-west. At Pak Tho it switches to Phetkasem Road (Highway 4) for the last hour through Phetchaburi and Cha-am into Hua Hin. The motorway is fast and well signed, with good service areas.

Traffic is usually heaviest on the ring road and on Rama 2 near Samut Sakhon. On a weekday, leaving after 9 am avoids the morning rush; Sunday afternoons are best avoided, when Bangkok traffic returns from the coast. We suggest a pickup time when you book and confirm it the evening before travel.

Rest stops and comfort

On a drive of four hours or more, comfort is what you remember. Comfort cars, SUVs and MPVs give generous legroom, and the Luxury MPV is the most relaxing option. The Van carries up to ten passengers with luggage. Child seats are available if you ask in advance (+300 THB).

A short break at a service area is part of the trip, with coffee and clean restrooms. To see something on the way, such as Bang Saen beach or Khao Wang (Phra Nakhon Khiri) in Phetchaburi, each planned stop is +500 THB. With older passengers or young children, more frequent short breaks are no problem; tell us when you book and we plan the timing.

Pattaya to Hua Hin by bus, ferry or private car

Buses link Pattaya and Hua Hin, but most journeys need a change in Bangkok, and the whole trip can take seven hours or more with waiting time. Bus tickets may also need to be bought in advance at busy times. A seasonal ferry across the Gulf has run at times but not reliably, so check its current status before relying on it.

The private car is the most predictable option: a set time, a fixed price and no transfers, with no luggage to carry across a Bangkok terminal. Shared between a family or a group of friends, the cost per person often comes close to bus fares plus city taxis. The fixed price is confirmed when you book, with fuel and tolls included.
